From the sea of humanity to the cacophony of voices around us, how do we make sense of our lives and the lives around us? Sensory overload becomes just one more mental strain we deal with and overlook in our lives daily.
At a time when we are bombarded with information and content, informative or entertaining, from everywhere, one of the toughest task today is to make sense of all the information and content we consume.
This newsletter is an attempt to cut out the noise surrounding our existence and get to the bare facts of the matter concerning our lives and our planet.
In this newsletter, I will be writing about our existence as a global community and civilization, surrounded as we are by unprecedented technological and economic capabilities but still unable to leverage them to make life better for ourselves or our future generations.
Inspired by the world around me and the things I see in it and read about, I will be using this space to write about the politics and economy of our times, the technological innovations of the past few decades and how it has impacted our lives and our culture, for better or worse. Not only that, I will also be exploring how some of these more knotty problems can be resolved, and what common action we all can take to address them.
Between the Lines is a common man’s attempt at decoding and unravelling some of the more complex knots of problems facing our existence as a species on this planet while developing a more inclusive perspective on the trajectory of our lives, society and community.
One thing I do not wish to do with this newsletter is to advocate the idea that there is only one way to think about things.
Rather, I would like to request my readers to read my newsletters with a critical and cynical eye and write back in the comments about any loopholes, feedback, criticism, and differing views or perspective. This is not only to refine my ideas, but also to bring in a wider set of views to light.
It would be my pleasure to engage with you about the topics we discuss here.
Or you could just tweet your thoughts tagging me @pliticalyincrkt
Lastly, this is just the beginning for me with no plans to stop for the foreseeable future. I will be writing frequently and on various topics that I think are worth talking about. Your suggestions are very welcome.
This is purposefully a paid newsletter, with an attempt to make it something bigger (Think of it as an attempt at crowdsourcing for bigger ideas—that I am anyway working on separately—and which I will start talking about here if I see this initiative getting the required traction). But I have removed the paywall for the time being.
